Welcome Letter

Letter from the Pastor

YOU CAN BELONG HERE!  :)

Hello & Welcome to Stilwell United Methodist Church! We begin with the idea of "belonging" because I think it reflects deeply on our identity and the connections that matter to us. The question "To whom do we belong?" isn't just about membership or Sunday morning attendance; it's about finding our place in a larger story, our spiritual home with God and within the Body of Christ (which is the Church).

Here at Stilwell UMC, our doors - and hearts - are open to anyone feeling the call to explore faith deeper, to love and understand God more, and to build meaningful relationships while serving our community. I hope and pray that as you get to know us, you'll find a group of people who are ready to embrace you as you are, are eager to learn from and with you, support and encourage you, and yes, also offer challenges that spur spiritual growth.

Our mission is to live out God's grace and follow Jesus' example of loving God and others. Through our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness we strive to better embody Jesus' teachings and share God's love through contributing to our community with joy and thankfulness.

I think it's also important to acknowledge that we are all growing and learning together - and this means that your past doesn't define your welcome here. The Christian life is seen not as a destination but as a journey and we would love to travel with you.

If you are reading this letter then please know that you are already beloved child of God, a cherished part of God's family, and you can belong here.

Grace and peace,

Rev. Phil Woodson
